In the winter of 2018, as Ingrida Cerniauskaite sat in a train slowly making its way across the Southeastern border of France, she gazed at the ice-tipped peaks of the Alps, and was struck with an idea.
Much like how the ice preserves the tops of the famed mountains as they reach towards the heavens, she thought of how ice can preserve - and even replenish - our skin.
Ice had been touted as a skincare panacea before, but never in a simple, handheld tool.
She wondered—how could she bring the healing power of ice to both relaxing daily skincare routines and unique spa experiences?
It took time, and it took perseverance, but Ingrida’s idea transformed into a product which ultimately became an international phenomenon: Fraîcheur facial ice globes.
How It Started... How It’s Going
The path was not easy
Fraîcheur ice globes utilize cryotherapy, also known as cold therapy, to smooth lines, decrease inflammation, and stimulate facial nerves and muscles, resulting in tighter, brighter skin. Facial massage with ice globes can be performed at home in minutes, leaving skin rejuvenated while bringing much-needed moments of peace and tranquility into our ever-busying lives.
But how did a small company founded on one young woman’s dream quickly become a world renowned beauty brand?
First, there’s the founder herself. With little more than a vision, 24 year-old Ingrida dared to break free of societal expectations and constraints when she founded her company as a solo female entrepreneur.
And then there’s the quality. Easy to hold and a pleasure to use, the elegant globes are 100% custom manufactured, crafted from shatter and chip-proof glass coupled with non-freezing liquid in a variety of spa-inspired colors.
Before Fraîcheur, there were very few ice globe manufacturers on the market, and the quality was severely lacking.
The path was not easy, and it was not simple.
Ingrida, as a lone woman entrepreneur, dove deep into the beauty manufacturing industry, researching raw materials, meeting with suppliers, testing, testing, re-testing, and traveling to far ends of the earth.
After nearly a year and a half, she succeeded to create a product that met the highest standards of quality, sophistication, and elegance. By utilizing a customized manufacturing process with touch points across the globe, including manufacturing centers in Asia and the EU, Fraîcheur has emerged as a pioneer in the industry.
World’s first glitter ice globes
The shatter-proof ice globes come in ten custom colors. In the summer of 2019, Fraîcheur introduced the world’s first and only glitter ice globes to the market. What is now recognized as Fraîcheur’s iconic packaging was updated three times, ensuring that the sophistication of the brand matched the sophistication of the ice globes themselves.
Where we are today
The brand now partners with some of the most iconic retailers including Urban Outfitters, Harrods London, ASOS, and Cult Beauty, and has been featured in Vogue, Glamour, Cosmopolitan, Elle,Harper’s Bazaar, and ITV.
Looking into the future, Fraîcheur, with Ingrida at its helm, will continue to innovate, inspire, and empower women and men across the world to take relaxation and rejuvenation into their own hands.
